Why are people of Africa protesting against the investments from China's Belt and Road Initiative?

#China's #BeltRoadInitiative has gathered a two-fold opinion around the world. The western world and China's competitors like the USA are suspicious, attacking China's biggest global infrastructure strategy trying to recreate old Chinese #silkroad(Belt and Road Initiative). The policy was called #neocolonialist and an exercise of debt trap policy. Whereas most of the developing third world like #Africa have welcomed #BRI as a provider of infrastructure, employment, and other glorious urban developments.
But we are seeing that this narrative is strongly challenged by the recent #protests(by people of Africa) erupting all across the #African continent. The worsening working conditions of African labor, fading environmental concerns, rising unemployment are claimed by the African protestors against investment from china's Belt and Road Initiative.
