An Easy Guide for Pruning Macrophylla Hydrangea Plants

If you're enamored with macrophylla hydrangea bushes like I am--those colorful mopheads and lacecaps, you'll want to learn how to prune them correctly. This video walks you through the proper pruning techniques to keep your macrophylla hydrangea plants looking great all summer long. Trim from the top of the stem to the first swollen bud, but don't trim too early in the season or you'll risk trimming off bud that will produce your first wave of flowers in June. Make sure the plant is fully awake after its winter slumber.
