Purple Heart Run begins at Mount Vernon
On May 2, the Military Order of the Purple Heart hosted a departure ceremony for the Purple Heart Run at Mount Vernon, Va., the home of George Washington, creator of the Badge of Merit (the forerunner of the Purple Heart Medal).
