Do you fancy racing against the best Gran Turismo drivers? The new event in Sport Mode in Gran Turismo gives you just that opportunity. Play With The Champions sees us hustling a McLaren P1 around the short but very demanding Brands Hatch.

This is a very difficult Gold Trophy time to beat, which suggests the time at the top of the leaderboard is incredibly quick. At the time of posting my best lap of 1:21.932 was 349th in the world, yet only 0.1 seconds below the standard required for gold. That's a very high standard. I will keep plugging away to find the perfect lap, but this video will give you a corner-by-corner guide on how to beat the current standard. I've also uploaded my ghost for you to download and chase to help give you something to aim for. Full instructions on how to get my ghost is given on the video.

This event was completed with no assists, except for the ABS set to weak. For these videos I also have the camera set to bonnet cam (although it's actually mounted on the roof). It's not the most realistic, and it's not as fun as in-car, but it does give you the best comprimise for a clear view of corners which ulitmately provides the quickest lap time. When I'm not doing videos I'll have the camera inside the cockpit.
