Alanya is a beach town in the south of Turkey (Turkish Riviera). It has sand beaches lined with hotels. Top things to see in Alanya are Alanya Castle (now open-air museum) accessible with Teleferik, and Red Tower, a symbol of the city built in 1226. Don't miss going all the way up to the park near big "Alanya" sign. It has incredible views and a nice restaurant all the way on the top of Alanya, Turkey.

The castle ceased to be purely defensive, and numerous villas were built inside the walls during the 19th century. Today Alanya Castle is an open-air museum. Access to the seaward castle is ticketed, but much of the area inside the wall is free.
