Exploring Alanya, Turkey, Autumn 2021
Hi everyone,
We started this video with visiting the Damlatas Caves in Alanya. The entrance fee was 12 TL/person. The caves are relatively small but worth seeing when you are in the area.
After that we took the gondola up to to castle which is the one landmark that can be seen from everywhere in the city (it's a huge area). The gondola rides costs 39 TL/round trip and takes only a few minutes. Once up on the mountain you can walk along the castle walls and enjoy some pretty amazing views of Alanya.
We have added some more information on the castle below, in case you are interested. As always we hope you will enjoy this video!
Alanya Castle, one of the symbols of Alanya, is an open-air museum located on a 10-hectare peninsula approximately 250 meters above sea level. The walls of the castle built in the Hellenistic period are 6,500 meters long. The structure of the castle, which has hosted Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations until today, is based on 13th century Seljuk period architecture. Alanya Castle, which has been home to pirates for a long time, has a total of 140 dungeons and 83 towers. The castle, which is one of the first places to visit in Alanya, has magnificent scenery that sees all Alanya.
