George Floyd death: Memorial held in Floyd family hometown of Hoke County, N.C. | FULL

George Floyd was memorialized in a ceremony in Hoke County, N.C., where his family lives, on Saturday.

Floyd, an unarmed Black man, died in police custody on Memorial Day in Minneapolis, Minn. after a white police officer held his knee on Floyd’s neck.

Hundreds turned out as various people spoke during the ceremony to honour the life of Floyd.

The family was presented with a North Carolina state flag which had flown over the State Capital last week.
