George Floyd death: Black activist delivers powerful message to 16-year-old protester in viral video

Following the death of George Floyd, and in the wake of protests across the United States, 31-year-old Curtis Hayes delivered a powerful message to a 16-year-old protester about the best way to stand up to anti-Black racism, telling the young man “You’ve got to come up with a better way.”

The protests, which were sparked by the death of Floyd — a Black man who died of suffocation after a video showed a white Minneapolis police officer with a knee on Floyd’s neck — have now entered their second week.
