PGA Tour David Ford⛳Quadruple Bogey, Back-to-Back Eagle Show

Last week, during the first round of the PGA Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, David Ford, then No. 1 in the 2025 PGA Tour University Rankings, faced a terrifying moment. His tee shot on the par-3 17th hole, the Bear Trap, landed in a hazard and he was unable to pull it out, ending in a quadruple-bogey 7.
The Bear Trap, the name of the PGA National Resort Champions Course where the tournament was held, is named after legendary golfer and course designer Jack Nicklaus, nicknamed the "Golden Bear." It refers to the infamous section of the course that connects the 15th, 16th, and 17th holes.
Ford then reversed the momentum with back-to-back eagle holes on the 2nd and 3rd holes, dramatically winning applause for his miraculous performance.
