Great Fish Story - Looking Beyond This Election #voteforbetter

Hey everyone, as we head into the election, there’s a lot on our hearts—cost of living, housing, education, healthcare, secure work.
And sadly, at times of economic stress, some look to blame immigrants and stoke racism.

Let's look beyond that, the deeper foundations: truth, transparency, democracy, and how we respond to the climate crisis and other core economic issues, not just address symptoms, but in real preparation and adaptation.

On the way, I’ve been reading A Theory of Everyone by Michael Muthukrishna, and it opens with this story:
Two young fish are swimming along when an older fish passes and says, “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” They swim on, and one turns to the other and says, “What the hell is water?”

It’s a reminder—from David Foster Wallace—that sometimes we’re swimming in systems so familiar, we don’t even see them anymore.

So, as you listen to politicians and parties, ask yourself: What are they saying needs to change? And more importantly, what deeper systems and truths are we not talking about yet?

Better is absolutely possible. Vote with clarity. Vote with care. Vote for better. 🗳️
