Celebrating NAIDOC Week at WaterNSW
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, we held an event at Cataract Dam on Dharawal Country inviting our people and local community members to attend.
The morning started with a smoking ceremony, an ancient Aboriginal custom, followed by a beautiful Welcome to Country by respected Dharawal elder, Aunty Glenda Chalker and traditional dance from the Koori Enterprises.
Our guest speaker was Associate Professor Bradley Moggridge, who passionately shared how culture and science can come together for the greater good, achieving better outcomes for both the environment and First Nation people – an insightful talk and one that provided great examples of how we can all Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
