By 1921 the Original Dixieland Jazz Band was starting to sound smoother and less raucous than its splash upon the music scene in 1917. Henry Ragas, the groups pianist had passed on in 1918 due to the flu epidemic. J. Russell Robinson replaced him. Young saxophonist Benny Krueger augmented the band in the studio during 1920 and 1921. The label on this record made 100 years ago describes the music as "For Dancing." What do you think?
