A New Kind of Man With a New Kind of Love For Me - Piedmont Dance Orchestra - actually Sam Lanin and His Orchestra - Perfect 14304 (5549-1) 7/3/24
Sam Lanin and His Orchestra during the 1920s appeared just about anywhere there was a recording studio to make records. Herein Lanin is is hiding under the Piedmont Dance Orchestra which was Pathe/Perfect Record's all purpose house name for its studio orchestra. Lanin's troupe records in a rather ambient studio which the old acoustic recording process picks up. The studio must have been a large room with very hard surfaces. However the musicians do a good job with a neat piano solo and a growling muted trumpet 2/3rds of the way through the record. Enjoy!
