Esli Honoré: Berklee Two Track I Transformation
This Two Track episode features Haitian pianist Esli Honoré performing his own composition, “Ete an la,” and his arrangement of “Peze Kafe,” a Haitian folk song.
Esli Honoré is a Haitian pianist studying contemporary writing and production/music performance at Berklee College of Music. Frederic Chopin, Jason White, and Oscar Peterson are among his musical influences. He spent a year studying at the Dominican Republic’s national conservatory and was a member of the Berklee Jazz All-Stars Band during the five-week summer performance intensive in 2019. Esli performs gospel music, R&B, funk, Latin music, kompa, zouk, rara, jazz, and classical music. He enjoys composing, arranging, and writing songs. In a summary, he enjoys music.
Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.
