In this video I review how one can go about determining what is the optimal size loc for you, based on your hair qualities. Uderstanding your hair density plays a huge role in determining what loc size is best for your hair. On low desnity hair, when parting size is large (and loc count is low) you tend to end up with a scalpy appearance near the roots. It is for this reason, I believe that low density hair tends to present best with smaller loc size that yields a higher number of locs to aid in the appearance of fullness.

On the other hand higher denisty hair tends to fare better with a low to moderate size and loc count. If you establish locs on hair that is already very dense at the start, you will end up with locs that are that much more dense and may make the hair overwhelming as there is such a thing as TOO volumnious. High density hair types take this traditional size, large size, and moderately sized microlocs/sisterlocks.

Happy Journeying!
