Epic Crow Hawk Battle Part 1

This video is part one of my latest excellent adventure, by virtue of volunteering at the Raptor Center. The other day, I released a large Red Tail Hawk that had been with us for 77 days. She came to us with a concussion and a badly broken humerus (upper arm). With the expert care she received from our staff, her fracture healed well, and for the past several weeks she has been in one of our largest flight cages, building up her flight muscles again. This cage is only about 60-70 feet long, so a few seconds of continuous flight is all she's managed for the last 77 days. But she was ready to go. So I found what looked like a perfect field to release her. I opened her box; she was slightly dazed.... but soon flew off to live her life in peace and freedom. But that's when things got weird. As soon as I let her go, she was savagely attacked by a group of 6 crows. Hadn't even made it to her first tree yet, about 100 yards away. When she landed, she was dive bombed by them all, over and over. Poor girl didn't even have her bearings yet, after so much time in captivity... and she was overwhelmed. And so began the epic battle, which was to last non-stop for the next 35 minutes. I only got a few minutes of this complex battle on video; so take these 2 vids and multiply it by about 20X... and I didn't catch all the best parts on my camera, but got some. It was full of twists and turns... surprises and strategy... and some plain old dumb luck. The first surprise was when this began as an idyllic day, and then all hell broke loose with a surprise ambush, and builds in intensity. At first, you can hear the single crow "look-out" giving the signal to his compadres, as our Red Tail enters the scene. So... Here is Part 1 - When Crows Attack!
