Former Police Minister Bheki Cele has dropped a political and legal bombshell: police investigators found that 22-year-old Anele “Nellie” Tembe did not die by suicide in 2021 — they believe she was murdered. Anele fell from the 10th-floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town while in a room with her fiancé, rapper AKA.

For years, the public was led to believe Anele jumped — but now, under oath before Parliament, Cele revealed that the police investigation convinced them otherwise.
