This is the true crime story of Martin Mohlasedi, a man from Hammanskraal, South Africa, whose bravery cost him his life. Martin was brutally attacked after he tried to stop his so-called friends from gang-raping a woman inside his parents’ home.

When Martin refused to let the rape happen, the men turned on him with unimaginable violence—beating him with whatever they could find. After collapsing from the brutal assault, the suspects then raped the woman before fleeing the scene, leaving both their victims for dead.

Martin was rushed to George Mukhari Academic Hospital, where he fought for his life for a week but tragically passed away. The woman survived but carries the trauma of that horrific night.

The Hammanskraal community rose up in anger, tracking down the suspects in Kanana and handing them over to the police. Two men have since been arrested and are facing charges of murder and rape in the Moretele Magistrates Court.
