“I got addicted to silicone injections” | INSIDE SILICONE: Jameela Jamil x Jahaira Gonzalez

In the first interview, I chat with Jahaira Gonzalez, Director of Outreach at Destination Tomorrow, an LGBTQ center in NYC. She tells me about her experience with silicone– becoming addicted, the pain she endured from it, the scars it left her with, and the thousands of dollars she sent trying to undo its damage. She also educates me about the fact that people can dive from silicone almost immediately, if not injected correctly.

ABOUT THE SERIES
In the limited series 'INSIDE SILICONE,' Jameela interviews guests about silicone, a material used in beautification and reconstruction procedures. The series is meant to break stigmas, educate about the dangers of liquid (AKA "loose") silicone, and help us all become better allies to disadvantaged people who often have to use liquid silicone because they can't access proper health care or proper silicone implants.
