Bourbon Bochet Mead - Mead... that tastes like Bourbon!

As you might know, Brian is a bit of a whiskey afficionado. Bourbon is always in the house, and usually in various kinds. The idea for Bourbon Bochet mead came from blending mead, oak, caramelized sugars, vanilla and honey all into one glorious brew that should in theory have a bit of mead mixed with a bit of bourbon in flavor.

A bochet is a cooked honey mead, the honey is boiled for about an hour, and it turns dark in color and smokey, caramelly in flavor. That became the base for our Bourbon Bochet.
