Painted Lady Butterflies - First Grade - Ms. Oros

Recently, Ms. Oros's first grade class studied the amazing metamorphosis of five Painted Lady Butterflies (scientific name Vanessa cardui). The students named the butterflies after their favorite Chronicles of Narnia characters; Aslan, Dr. Cornelius, Peter, Susan, and Lucy.

After weeks of classroom observations, the butterflies emerged from their chrysalides and were released. The children greatly enjoyed this opportunity to admire creation thanks to Nancy Larson Science.
