Among Paul Louis Bouchard’s orientalist paintings, the best known and most notable is “Les Almées” or The Egyptian Dancers from 1893 which today can be seen at Musée d’Orsay in Paris. The Egyptian Dancers, painted in oil on canvas, gives us a glimpse at a richly decorated harem-hall, where music, singing and dancing is performed as part of the entertainment scene.
