WHAT IS THE POLICE CAUTION? Your Rights on Arrest Explained | Police interview, police bail & charge

In this video, I explain what is the police caution and your rights on arrest. The police caution is given to you on arrest and before any formal interview. The police caution is as follows:
“You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”

Your rights on arrest are fundamental and as follows:
1. Have someone informed of your arrest/where you are
2. Access to police codes of practice
3. Free and independent legal advice
