"How much does it cost to go to the Galapagos?" is a question that isn't easy to answer, unless you accept the answer "a lot". It depends on whether you want to take a cruise or island hop with day trips from land. We tried both, and I broke down both itineraries, I will tell you the exact cost of our Galapagos cruise, and the cost of our land-based Galapagos stay. I even calculate what the cost would have been if we did the same itinerary from our cruise but stayed on land overnighting in Puerto Ayora and doing day trips to North Seymour Island, Sullivan Bay, and Bartolome viewpoint. I will tell you how much we spent on food, accommodations, where to get a cheap cup of coffee, booze, and even what the cheapest way to visit the Galapagos is.
