Optimizing Patient Care Series: Motivating Patients to Promote Adherence
In this module you will be introduced to Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a communication tool. MI has its original roots in addiction medicine, however over recent years it has been gaining momentum as an effective method to facilitate medication adherence, smoking cessation and other components of chronic disease management. This module will introduce you to MI concepts and skills and will provide practical strategies to help you begin to incorporate this tool into your routine clinical practice.
