As early as this summer, the Russian army is expected to experience a "logistics lockdown" due to the intensification of medium-range strikes against the Russian rear. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Facebook. "We are launching a separate program, 'Logistics Lockdown,' to scale up mid-strike operations and systematically destroy Russian capabilities at operational depth. Our goal is to further increase pressure on the Russians in the rear and deprive them of the ability to conduct active assault operations," Fedorov stated. As reported by the minister, as part of the first stage of the program, the Ministry of Defense, together with the General Staff, allocated an additional UAH 5 billion directly to the military for the purchase of modern medium-strike weapons. "The funds will be received by the most effective brigades and units within the eBali system—teams that specialize in destroying the enemy at operational depth and demonstrate the best results in this area," Fedorov emphasized. He noted that the first units have already received funds, and direct purchases have already begun. At the same time, as part of the second stage of the program, centralized tenders are being launched for the purchase of a large batch of medium-impact weapons. "Open tenders don't just mean speed and scaled production. They also mean competition between manufacturers, minimizing corruption risks, transparency, and the efficient use of public funds," Fedorov said. As the Minister of Defense noted, Ukraine has been gradually regaining the initiative on the front lines. "The cost of advancement for the Russians is constantly rising. If in October the enemy lost 67 soldiers per square kilometer of advance, then in April it was 179. Russia is suffering record losses: over 35,000 soldiers killed or seriously wounded every month – and we continue to increase the pace," the Minister emphasized. As Fedorov added, in recent months, the destruction of enemy logistics, warehouses, equipment, command posts, and supply routes at operational depth has quadrupled. According to him, a pattern is already visible in the analytical graphs: the more Russian logistics are destroyed, the fewer assault operations occur along the combat line. Fedorov explains that one of the key factors behind this change was strategic decisions to scale up mid-strike capabilities. Specifically, after the Russians cut off the Starlink satellite signal, this became another factor in Ukraine's technological advantage on the battlefield. "Therefore, our task now is, on the president's orders, to maximize the medium strike and, in coordination with the military, create a complete logistical lockdown for the enemy," the minister said. "This summer, the results of centralized procurement for mid-strike weapons will be noticeable at the front. The enemy, even at a great distance from the front lines, will no longer feel safe," Fedorov is convinced. Ukrainian drones are increasingly operating at distances of 30–100 km or more from the line of contact, massively damaging transport and equipment. Russian military bloggers are already sounding the alarm over the destruction of Russian logistics by Ukrainian drones . One such blogger expressed serious concern that the situation along supply lines near Mariupol is beginning to resemble the situation along the M-30 "Horlivka-Panteleimonivka-Yasinovata-Donetsk" highway (located 35 km from the front line), where Ukrainian troops used drones to paralyze Russian logistics and civilian traffic. It was also reported that the 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, has launched a large-scale campaign to disrupt Russian logistics in the occupied south. Ukrainian forces are paying particular attention to the Mariupol-Melitopol-Simferopol route, which is one of Russia's key logistics corridors in the south.
