3D Wood Topographical Map made from Dyed Skateboard Veneers

On today’s woodworking project we are carving a topographic map of California from Colored Skateboard Veneers. This is a project I’ve been thinking about for years and finally got it together to try. It isn’t perfect but I love the way it came out. I give you an overview of how to do this on your CNC and give you all the tools and resources to do it yourself. There are several really cool time lapses and I learned a lot about using dyed veneers (like wear gloves or it will look like you made love to a unicorn). Let me know what you’d like to see next.
