Where should you register your company — and how?

I’ve built businesses in Europe, the US, and the UK.

Here’s how you can decide where to incorporate your online business:

🇺🇸 US (Delaware C-Corp):
If you're building a tech startup and planning to raise investment, register a Delaware C-corp.

Use Clerky — it makes the process fast and easy.
Heads up: You'll need to pay the Delaware Franchise Tax every year, but it’s necessary if you want VC funding.
American Investors rarely fund startups incorporated outside Delaware.

🇺🇸 US (LLC):
If you're a solopreneur and plan to bootstrap, an LLC is your best bet.
You can register with Doola — it’s simple and affordable.

🇬🇧 UK (Ltd Company):
The UK has the best banking system and easiest company management I've ever experienced.
Managing your company and taxes is straightforward, even without professional help.

BUT:
Investment opportunities are limited.

Taxes are higher.
For example, the UK has a 20% VAT, while Delaware has 0% sales tax (the US version of VAT).
