Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a Vaishnava temple. This temple was built by King Marthanda Varma of Travancore at that time i.e. present day Thiruvananthapuram in the 18th century. Raja Marthanda Varma started developing businesses there by including Travancore and other surrounding areas. The business of masalas developed a lot in this area. People from all over the country come here to trade spices. Due to this, the state got a lot of economic benefits. Apart from this, King Marthanda Varma also won the treasury of Portuguese ships. Gradually, the treasury of the Travancore kingdom had increased to a great extent. It started being discussed in the country and abroad. But now King Martand Verma started worrying about the security of this treasure.
After being freed from the position of king, Marthanda Varma dedicated his kingdom to the Lord and declared himself a lifelong servant of Vishnu. After which the king hid all the treasures in a secret cellar and established a grand temple of Lord Vishnu on the basis of them. In which the idol of Vishnu is installed in Padmanabha posture.
The king kept his treasure safe but after his death he left behind a secret. The gate that even today makes this temple very mysterious. In the year 2011, TP Sundararajan, who had worked in the 'Indian Police Service' ie IPS, proposed to the High Court to visit the basements of this temple. After the approval of the court, a team of 7 people was formed in which Sundararajan was also included. He successfully opened 6 doors out of 7 basements present 5 feet below the temple. And in these, assets worth about 1 lakh 20 thousand crore rupees were received. Now it was the turn of Vault B i.e. 7th and last door. This door was quite unique from the rest. It was made of iron, which the committee was able to open. But inside it was another heavy wooden door. After opening it, another very heavy iron door was made inside it. It was impossible to open it. Because neither was there any lock on it nor any secret code by which this door could be opened. If anything, only scary and terrifying pictures of snakes. According to the pundits of the temple, this door has
been closed by the Nagpasham mantra.
t p Sundararajan who proposed in the court to open these chambers. But three weeks after opening the chamber, Sundararajan died suddenly. After which all the servants including the priest of the temple banned the opening of that seventh door. According to them, this is a cursed room, whose attempt to open it will anger God and destruction will come. But keep all these beliefs aside. When its scientific research was done, the sound of water started coming from behind that door. And it was concluded that by opening this basement a lot of water would come out and the sanctum sanctorum of the temple would be completely filled with water. Due to which the entire temple can be destroyed. This is probably designed to protect the treasures of these rest of the doors. So that when the time comes, this 7th door should be opened and the entire temple including the treasure should be demolished. According to many people, the path behind this door leads us to God, while many people believe that behind this door there is an infinite serpent who is stationed in the protection of this treasure. But there is no solid evidence on any of the claims. And hardly we will know about it in future. But today this mystery is still unsolved.
