Abandoned Spanish Airfield

El Cortijo Grande Airfield Almeria Spain.
Built for the super rich so they could fly in their private plane to play golf and visit their holiday home. Not far from Turre, hidden away in the Sierra Cabrera mountains is the airfield. This airfield was built for the Cortijo Grande project, but over the years the owners used the near by airport of Almeria and the airfield became abandoned.
The airfield was used in the film 'Indiana Jones the Last Crusade', the area where Indie and dad crash landed their plane. The surrounding mountains were also used for the flying sequences in the film.
