It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot came in at number 1 on billboard and sold 251000 in the first week. and his second album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood sold 670000 and came in at number 1 on the billboard charts. In 1999 Ja Rule released his debut album called Venni Vetti Vecci which debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200 and sold 185,000 copies. At the time, Jay, X and Ja were signed to separate labels. Jay represented Rocafella, X was a def jam artist and Ja was the flagship artist at murder inc however before venni vett’s release Irv gotti brought them all together to form a supergroup called Murder Inc.
