2023 Ford Everest preview: New 4x4 SUV rival to Prado, MU-X detailed - seven seats, V6 diesel!

The new-generation @ford Everest 2023 model has been revealed at last, with a new flagship Platinum grade headlining the changes for the 4x4 rival to the Toyota Prado.

The new model - which will continue to be built in Thailand, off the same underpinnings as the new Ford Ranger ute - will see the addition of a new flagship engine, too, with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel motor being offered alongside the existing 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder ‘Lion’ engine badged ‘Bi-Turbo’.

There will be four grades available - the base model Ambiente, mid-spec Trend and Sport, and the new top-spec Platinum that replaces the existing Titanium grade. It's not clear yet which versions will come with five seats, and which will be offered with seven seats. But whether you get two or three rows of seating, the space in the back is expected to be better.

Further, all models are set to improve towing capacity to a maximum 3.5 tonnes, and fuel consumption is likely to remain close the existing model.

More details - including pricing, specifications, exact safety equipment on offer, exact dimensions (although we know it has a longer wheelbase), off road angles (approach, departure, breakover and wading depth), and what it's like to drive - are still to come.
