Adidas AdiPower Vs. Nike Romaleos 3 — An Easy Choice?

In today's weightlifting shoe showdown, we've pitted two of the markets most popular options against one another: The Adidas AdiPower and the Nike Romaleos 3.

Over the last few years, each of these shoes have grown in popularity in strength training communities for slightly different reasons.
For example, the Adidas AdiPower is tried and true and has been a consistent performer for multiple athletes since their release. The Nike Romaleos 3 is one of the lightest lifting shoes on the market and athletes tend to love the athletic, slim fit they offer. Although, is one better than the other?
Why compare these shoes now?
The new Adidas AdiPowers (releasing in 2019) and the Nike Romaleos 3 XD are the newest editions of these shoes, so prices for each of these older models have gone down.
Adidas AdiPower Pros
1. Adidas Torsion System through the mid-foot.
2. Strong and durable leather outer construction.
3. Solid .75" TPU heel.
4. Decently Priced
Adidas AdiPower Cons
1. Limited shoelace eyelets.
2. Tough to find as new models are released.
Overall, the Adidas AdiPower is a solid shoe, but there's a big catch to this model. The Adidas AdiPowers are being released later this year, so they're getting tougher to find. If you find a pair for a great price, then we'd recommend getting them while you can!

Nike Romaleos 3 Pros
1. Lightweight with 20mm heel-to-toe offset for athletic feeling.
2. Strong honeycomb .75" TPU heel.
3. Thick mid-foot strap for stability
Nike Romaleos 3 Cons
1. Durability Issues
Overall, the Nike Romaleos 3 are a hit or miss depending on the style of lifting shoe you prefer. They perform consistently, but they do have durability issues with the tongue (hence the release of the Romaleos 3 XD), so that's something to always be mindful of if you purchase a pair.
