Sitges Festa Major Fireworks Display August 2010

Sitges is situated around 35 kilometres south-west of Barcelona, Spain and is known for its Film Festivals, Carnivals and for its much-frequented beaches, nightspots, and historical sites.

This is an edited video of the fireworks display from 23rd August 2010, the display started at 23:00 hours and originally went on for some 30 minutes, the video was taken from an apartment balcony behind San Sebastián beach on Carretera de les Costes.

The Sitges Festa Major is a celebration of the patron saint, Sant Bartolomeu, the fireworks display attracts more than half a million visitors to Sitges and, to give the event more impact, all lighting including the street lights are extinguished as the display is about to start.

This year the temperature was +30° with no wind whatsoever causing much of the display to be hidden in its own smoke.
