Hey guys! In this video, I show you how I turn a coin into a tiny little spider sculpture, because boredom. Seriously though, this was a pretty challenging, but fun little project.
The tools used are: a jeweler's saw (to cut out the initial shape), a dremel with the flex shaft attachment for easier handling, plus some REALLY cheap diamond burrs and fine grit sandpaper. For the abdomen, I used a dapping block (aka doming block) to get that hemisphere shape. Also, some needle nose vise grips really help to hold onto this tiny thing.
I enjoyed the challenge here, trying to come up with something using the limitations of just a coin and some tools. I hope you enjoy watching this, maybe it'll spark some art project ideas! And if you have any questions feel free to ask me in the comment section!
