Atlas Missile History - Solving Fuel Flow
Getting the fuel and oxidizer to properly mix was a big problem for the early Atlas Rocket, Roland Fitzroy and Gene Wright worked on the problem in the 50s. Roland Fitzroy used a tube of Colgate toothpaste to fix one of the problems. The rocket they worked on led to the first US ICBM and the rocket used for moon missions. This oral history is part of the GE Family Album Series published by the Edison Tech Center.
