Creating and Working With a "Magic Loop"
When knitting in the round in which you begin row-reducing to form a crown to a hat, for example, it becomes necessary to transfer your work to either three or four double-point needles or a magic loop. This is due to the fact that the circular needle can no longer hold your stitches or the decreased circumference makes knitting impossible. In this video I demonstrate how to create and then work from a magic loop. Skills required: basic knitting and knitting in the round (curricular knitting). Tools: 16" circular needle, 29" circular needle (both of same gauge), tapestry needle (to weave in ends). Optional: rubber stopper for tip of needle to keep stitches from falling off when transferring. This is part of my Circular Knitting Series. Look for more videos soon! Thank you for watching. Comments and feedback welcome.
