Brioche Knitting Series - Inserting a Lifeline (Abridged w/o Intro)
This is an abridged version of part seven of a seven part series on brioche knitting. This project is a reversible cowl as it involves two-color brioche knitting. In this part, you will need your work and a tapestry needle as well as a piece of yarn in a contrasting color, if possible.
This part demonstrates how to insert a "lifeline" into your work at any time in order to correct a relatively major mistake. The lifeline is generally inserted when a mistake is found and done so just below the mistake. Inserting a lifeline locks in all of the stitches so that you may safely remove your main knitting needle and "rip" the stitches down to the lifeline. Once you have reached the lifeline, it is easy to then place the stitches back onto your main knitting needle allowing you to commence with your project.
This is a great alternative to living with the mistake in your work or having to come text start your project from the beginning.
