A Local Gossip Tried Telling Me Why I Became an Atheist (And How I Responded)

Last week, someone I used to go to church with responded to me on Facebook (in a conversation about politics) by suddenly going on a rant about why and how they thought I became an atheist. The point, as far as I can tell, was to make sure everybody knew I had nothing worth saying since I had rejected Jesus. I want to share what the person said and how I responded, because I'm sure a lot of you have had Christians come at you with similarly presumptuous stereotypes - and I hope relaying my conversation can assure you that you're not alone and that talking to you like this is unacceptable, while sharing some of my vocabulary for re-telling my actual story.
