INS Vikrant is India’s first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier, a symbol of true self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. Manufactured by Cochin Shipyard Limited, it was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 2nd September 2022.

This mighty carrier is 262 meters long, weighs 45,000 tons, and can carry up to 36 aircraft, including MiG-29K fighter jets and MH-60R helicopters.

With INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya, India now has double the maritime power to protect its waters! 🌊⚓
