The centerpiece is the impressive 60 kWh lithium-ion battery. It makes the range of 520 km * possible. Thanks to the super flat battery still has room for five people.

The advanced battery concept allows you to drive the Ampera-e for a long time. How it works: The chemistry of the lithium-ion battery increases the heat resistance - so less energy is lost for cooling. And the active thermal management system keeps the battery temperature in the most efficient operating range even at extreme outside temperatures. The battery consists of 288 cells and has a capacity of 60 kWh - the equivalent of 60,000 household batteries. On a 50 kW DC fast charging station you can charge up to 150 km 1 range in 30 minutes .

The provisional range of the Ampera-e was determined using the legally binding, standardized test method in Europe - the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

In addition to the NEDC range, we estimate the combined WLTP range to be more than 380 kilometers, based on development tests that are based on the speed profile of the WLTP drive cycle (shortened test procedure).

The WLTP driving cycle is based on real driving profiles and thus reflects everyday conditions than the currently binding New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Nevertheless, your range will differ in everyday life. In practice, factors such as route condition, weather conditions, driving style or payload affect range.

The Ampera-e has a regenerative braking system 1 , which converts the energy gained from the braking power back into electricity and feeds it back into the battery.

Just take your foot off the accelerator pedal or brake, and the battery will recharge.
