Jekyll Island, GA Tour May 2020, Biking - Lectric Bikes, Beaches, Sunrise, RV Travel, Campground

Join us on our first EVER visit to Jekyll Island, GA. We traveled in our 2012 Itasca Navion RV made by Winnebago, on a Mercedes sprinter chassis and stayed at the Jekyll Island campground. The campground was perfect, very clean, great price for full hook ups ($47.00 night + tax as of May 2020). We traveled all over the entire island exploring and visiting all 7 beaches, historic sites and we even got up early for a sunrise. Driftwood beach was a very short bike ride away from the campground.
This video was filmed right after the transition from phase 1 to phase 2 reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown, so the beaches and town were very quiet. Some stores were open and restaurants could serve food to sit down customers. We had a great time and it was nice to visit with perfect weather and not a lot of tourists.
As far as transportation around the island, we highly recommend bringing an electric bike with you, especially if you're not used to riding a regular bike, but make sure you have a well padded seat! Our Electric Bikes are made by Lectric bikes. We will be doing a video about them soon (not a sponsor, yet). The bike paths are very flat and easy to travel on and fairly well maintained. There were some parts that needed to be redone but for the most part very smooth. There are also trails located in the woods with packed sand and dirt and you can easily journey to all 7 beaches via the bike trails. The hard packed sand makes it easy to ride on, but you might want to have wider tires on your bike. Our Lectric Bikes have fat tires so they worked well in all but the softest sand.
