Doing Your Locs Yourself vs. Going to a Stylist

Lots of folks starting their loc journey wonder how much maintaining their starter locs (and beyond) will cost them. The answer? It depends.

You can choose to do them yourself and pay with your time and energy (those elbows will burn from retwisting!), or you can pay a stylist. Each path has its own benefits and drawbacks.

Maintaining your locs yourself is totally possible--I've been doing it for more than 4.5 years. Going to a loctician is a great option, though, especially if you want color.
