How to Rewist Locs Yourself

It takes time and patience but anyone can retwist their own locs, not to mention it saves you money. Typically I pay $85 for a loc rewtist and style, thats over 1,000/yr. So give it a try.
Here's some steps to help you through the process.

1. Do a deep cleanse to your locs, you're probably not going to clean your hair for 1-2 weeks after a retwist so make sure that its as clean as possible. Check out my deep cleanse loc routine video for help.

Supplies:
-duck bill clips (long)
-gel or loc butter, AVOID beeswax it causes product buildup and attracts lint.
-spray bottle (I added veggie glycerin and essential oils to mine)
-I also put oils in a spray bottle to oil my scalp and hair.

*I used Let's Jam only for about 3 locs, I thought I needed it in order to get a good hold, but I was wrong and I didn't want to risk all that product damaging my hair.

You don't always have to finish with a blow dry I like to tie mine down and allow it to dry overnight. I never have an issue with mildew but if you have thicker locs or a lot of buildup in your hair I would avoid letting it air dry, or at least go over the roots with a blow dryer.
