Nikephoros Phokas was an Eastern Roman General who scored countless impressive victories on the battlefield and eventually became the Emperor. This series tells the story of his life, military career and rule. Part 0 sets up the stage with the tales of the state of Byzantine empire and the Muslim world that surrounded it in the middle of the 10th century.
