What is your favourite martini recipe? Comment below... all recipes in the description below!
CLASSIC MARTINI
The classic Martini is probably one of the most well known cocktails. As with many cocktails there are a number of different stories regarding it's history but both Gin Foundry and Imbibe by David Wondrich provide the most accurate backgrounds.
The Martini's recipe is often debated but the one listed is a good base to start with. Want it dry? Use less vermouth. Want it Perfect? Add sweet vermouth. Like it dirty? Add some olive brine. There are endless options.

8:49 Fifty Fifty Martini
11:13 Which is the best Martini?
INGREDIENTS
- 75ml Dry Gin
- 15ml Dry Vermouth
- Dash of Orange Bitters
PERFECT MARTINI
The Perfect Martini calls for equal parts of both sweet and dry vermouth. It's less boozy than the original and was featured in Harry Craddock's Savoy Cocktail Book.
INGREDIENTS
- 45ml Dry Gin
- 22.5ml Dry Vermouth
- 22.5ml Sweet Vermouth
- Dash of Orange Bitters
DIRTY MARTINI
The Dirty Martini was created by New York bartender John O'Connor back in 1901. Inspiration was taken for the classic martini's garnish, the olive. Muddled olives and a splash of olive brine adds a salty, umami flavour that works well with savoury style gins.
INGREDIENTS
- 75ml Dry Gin
- 15ml Dry Vermouth
- 15ml Olive Brine
50/50 MARTINI
The 50/50 Martini is essentially a very wet martini with equal parts of both dry gin and dry vermouth resulting in a lower ABV sipper (compared to that of the classic martini) and is a great way to showcase your favourite vermouth.
One of the many well known cocktails recipes featured in Harry Craddock's Savoy Cocktail Book.
INGREDIENTS
- 45ml Dry Gin
- 45ml Dry Vermouth
