3 Cheap and Easy Student Meals | Surviving University

This video is dedicated to my study life!
I have many recipes that I have been making throughout my study but today I wanted to share these 3 easy, cheap dinner ideas!

00:23 Ramen
Ingredients:
1 Instant ramen pack (whatever flavour u like)
1 egg
Bacon slices or any protein
Green onion
1 handful of vegetables ( green beans, mushroom, paprika, onion, broccoli or anything that would work)
Seaweed (optional)

Method:
1. Boil the eggs. Bring the water to a boil, gently put the eggs into the water (room temperature eggs recommended). Make sure that the water covers the egg. For medium leave to boil for 6 minutes. Then dunk in ice or cold water.
2. Slice up the green onion and chop up vegetables if needed.
Prepare the protein however you like, but for the bacon, bring the pan to medium high heat aan while the pan is heating up place the bacon slices.
3. Boil 450 - 700 ml of water. Add the flavour packet, and dump all the veggies to the boiling water. Boil until tender, then add the ramen! Cook according to instruction.
4. Assemble everything in a bowl and enjoy!

02:35 Feta Pesto Pasta
Ingredients:
Pasta, how much you like
Small onion
Half zucchini
1 Tomato
Mushroom
50 - 70g feta cheese
Salt, pepper and garlic powder

Toppings:
Pesto
Olives
Dried herbs like basil and or oregano

Method:
1. Bring the water to a boil and generally season with salt. Drown the pasta and let it cook according to the packaging instructions. Once it's done, drain the pasta water and put it aside.
2. Cut up all the vegetables. And the cheese.
Then start by heating your flimsy pan on medium low heat. Add 2 tbs of vegetable oil. Add all your veggies at once, season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Let it cook for 5 to 7 mins or till the vegetables become soft and seem more edible.
3. Then add your feta and pasta and for 3 to 4 mins till it melts and everything becomes one.
4. Plate it up! Add dried herbs if you have any like basil or oregano. Add a dash of pesto! For those who have a mature flavour palette add black olives.
And there you go, a warm easy meal for the lucky ones with no lactose intolerance.

04:30 Big Mac Burger
Ingredients
Burger buns
Beef, 300 grams for 2 patties
Lettuce
Cheddar or Jong cheese

Sauce:
50g mayo
50g ketchup
1 heaping table spoon of mustard,
½ TBS garlic powder,
½ TBS paprika
¼ TBS salt
2 TBS finely chopped pickles,
1 TBS pickle juice

Method:
1. For the sauce mix everything into a small bowl or cup. This will make 2 - 4 portions of sauce.
2. Cut up the Lettuce. And shape the meat into a disk bigger than the bun since it will shrink because of the heat.
3. Put the pan on medium heat and butter that thing. And Place the buns to toast. You can also toast them in a toaster.
4. Then on medium high heat, add a bit of vegetable oil and add the beef disk! (be careful). Season generously with salt and pepper. Let it cook undisturbed for 3 to 5 minutes on their first side. Until a deep fried crust forms.
5. Flip the patty and top with american cheese please. Carefully add a dash of water to the pan and cover and to let the steam melt the cheese.
6. Now the burger is done, time to assemble the masterpiece.
7. Take the bottom bun, scoop up that special sauce, spread it around, top that with some lettuce, place that cooked cheesy patty on top. Then smack some extra sauce on the top bun and piece it all together.
8. Enjoy!
