Home Again: Sail-Drive Install & more, ready for the new BETA Marine Engine
Another GREAT week, many projects completed on Home Again. Making sure everything that can be done, is done, before the engine gets in the way.
Biggest part was getting the Saildrive set onto the foundation. You can't install while attached to the engine because it has to tilt/twist/turn to get the prop shaft out the bottom of the boat. The access hatch made this job so much better - having that "Sun Roof" make for a very pleasant process.
Next up, we have a few more details, then we'll drop in the new Beta Marine Engine.
Also, Mike is pretty excited to have a brand new, reliable, auxiliary engine for his sailboat. More importantly this installation will be serviceable and super easy for daily engine room checks.
As always, if you or someone you know is interested in a Marine Technology program, check us out! More information: https://www.skagit.edu/academics/areas-of-study/industrial-technology-transportation/
Take a Virtual Tour of our Campus - future technicians wanted, we can train you!
