Paul Elie Interviews Marilynne Robinson
Paul Elie of Farrar, Strauss and Giroux interviews Marilynne Robinson about her influences, her literary work, and her themes on politics and religious thought, particularly Protestantism in America and the sustainability of religious tolerance. Dr. Robinson is a graduate of Brown University and the author of three novels, 'Housekeeping' (1981), 'Gilead' (2004) and 'Home' (2008). She won the Pulitzer Prize for 'Gilead' in 2005. She is also the author of a book about nuclear pollution in England and numerous other essays.
The event was held in Riggs Library on April 6, 2009 and was sponsored by the Office of the President. It is the third discussion in a series with Paul Elie.
