April 10, 2013 | At a time of deep polarization in American politics and society, questions around the relationship between individual faith and public life, and how to work across political and religious lines to serve the public good are more important than ever. Such challenges are at the heart of a new book by the Reverend Jim Wallis, On God's Side: What Religion Forgets and Politics Hasn't Learned about Serving the Common Good (Brazos, 2013).
Reverend Wallis was joined by the Washington Post's Michael Gerson for a discussion of these critical issues. Tom Banchoff, director of Georgetown's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, acted as moderator.
